CAM1000 is a Blind Spot Assistant System for trucks with intelligent object detection feature. Only moving objects are indicated. The driver gets a visual and acoustic sign at a critical situation to avoid heavy accidents with cyclists and pedestrians. The system allows a full video picture during normal drive. Easy installation reduced to a minimum by simply connecting the camera to the system monitor – no blackbox or CAN bus and sensor connection is needed.
CAM1000 fulfils the requirement of the German BMVI
to gain a financial support (only Germany at the moment) and also applied the required ABE.

"The Dometic Blind Spot Assistant System warns the drivers of vehicles when cyclists or pedestrians appear in the blind spot area on the right hand side next to their vehicle. The development by the Competence Center Electronic Emsdetten took place in close coordination with TÜV and affected drivers of trucks. The aim was amongst others to achieve a high acceptance by the drivers and to guarantee high functionality even under adverse circumstances.
